Grape for your... eyes
and not only

Another study in 2015 showed that resveratrol, a natural substance found in high concentrations in grape skins (mainly red), provides retinal cells with a "shield" against UV radiation. This property of resveratrol may reduce the risk of macular degeneration, a common eye condition that occurs in older age. A similar study published in 2016 in the journal Nutrients showed that resveratrol also protects against glaucoma, cataracts and eye conditions caused by diabetes.

The benefits of grapes are complemented by the two antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin. Numerous studies have shown that these two ingredients protect the eyes from the damage caused by blue radiation, which afflicts people who spend a lot of time in front of screens.

Dos

๐Ÿ‘ Put the grape in the freezer and enjoy a cool snack on hot, summer days.

๐Ÿ‘ Add some grape nips to a chicken salad. It's a perfect match!

๐Ÿ‘ Add grape juice to your smoothies

๐Ÿ‘ In the off-season months, instead of grapes you can opt for raisins, which are particularly rich in polyphenols, a group of complex plant substances with multiple health benefits.
