Fig: Rich in taste and properties!

Strengthens the digestive system

It has been confirmed that figs are ideal for good bowel function. It acts as a digestive, diuretic and hepatic, helping to treat constipation. As an example, a study conducted in India in 2013 showed that figs lead to fewer episodes of constipation and reduce the symptoms associated with it, such as stomach ache and abdominal discomfort.

Fig for strong hair

Something that many people don't know is that fig also benefits the hair, which is why it is often used, in shampoos, creams and masks.

The ingredients in figs strengthen and deeply moisturize the hair, while at the same time promoting its growth. According to a study in the scientific journal Annals of Dermatology, zinc - a mineral found in figs - accelerates hair follicle regeneration, and a lack or deficiency in the body can lead to weakened hair or hair loss.

According to another study conducted in 2016, many of the nutrients found in figs (zinc, copper, selenium, magnesium, calcium, B vitamins, vitamin C) contribute to healthy hair growth.

Protector from breast cancer

Research completed over 8 years and conducted on more than 50,000 menopausal women in Sweden showed that those who consumed more fibre from fruits, mainly figs, pears, plums and apples, reduced their risk of developing breast cancer by 34%!

Figs are a natural aphrodisiac!

Since ancient times, figs were already known for their stimulant properties, which is why they were used in cases of sexual weakness. So if you need a boost, try adding them to your diet and enjoy their properties in your sex life as well.

Fresh or dried?

Figs are an "easy" fruit that I find all year round and in dried form. The choice between fresh or dried figs depends of course on the season and your preferences. Remember that dried fruit has more calories and sugar, while fresh fruit gives you more vitamin A and C!

100gr of fresh figs give 74 calories while the same amount of dried ones, reaches 249 calories.

So enjoy it the way you like it!

Dos

👍 Prefer figs when you have a craving for something sweet. I often choose it as a dessert, as I enjoy the texture and rich flavor.
